Don’t sweat over your water jets anymore!
This blog is dedicated to enhance your knowledge on submersible water pumps so that you can make a smart and informed decision of selecting the best water pump for your fishes. What is a small submersible water pump? It is a type of water pump which is centrifugal in nature. Remember centrifugal, it was a concept taught in physics. Well, who even paid attention in physics, right?
Don’t worry I got you, centrifugal means trying to move from the center. In this context, a centrifugal pump is used because it has a spinning impeller that helps draw the fluid into the pump and layer forces it out from a point, which is known as an outlet point at a velocity which is high (increased). These pumps use a motor to move or power the impeller, this motor is placed in a waterproof seal and is then connected closely to the body of the water pump that it is powering.
Two main types of pumps
- Jet pumps
- These types of pumps help with pulling up the water.
- Pulling the water up often requires more energy, especially if your tank is big.
- Submersible pumps
- These types of pumps on the opposite hand, work by pushing the water upward.
- As mentioned in the point above, these pumps push the water up which definitely requires energy that is a lot less than that used by jet pumps.
- These are more efficient and hence more in demand.
